Alfalfa Grass

  • Alfalfa Grass Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 7.5-8.0 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 15-32 oC is most favorable.

  • Alfalfa Grass typically have a lifespan of 1.5 years for commercial production and Usually ready for harvesting at 45-60 days after planting, then harvested every 15 to 25 days. Hence, every year yield per acre 8 to 12 MT of green fodder or 1.6 to 3.2 MT of dry fodder. (Depends on the varieties and climate)

Marvel Grass

  • Marvel Grass Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 6.0-7.5 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 8-28 oC is most favorable.

  • Marvel grass typically have a lifespan of 2 years for commercial production and Usually ready for harvesting at 90-105 days after planting, then harvested every 30-45 days. Hence, every year yield per acre 10 to 14 MT of green fodder or 3 to 4.5 MT of dry fodder. (Depends on the varieties and climate)

  • Sowing time : June to November

  • Sorghum Grass Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 6.0-7.5 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 27-32 oC is most favorable.

  • Sorghum Grass crop matures in about 60-70 days and yields 3 to 4 MT dry fodder or 10 to 12 MT green fodder per acre in moderate climate and depending on the varieties.

Maize Grass

  • Maize Grass crop matures in about 55-70 days and yields 4 to 6 MT dry fodder or 10 to 12 MT green fodder per acre in moderate climate and depending on the varieties

  • Sowing time : January-February, June-July, September-October

Oats Grass

  • Oats Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 4.5-6.6 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 18-30 oC is most favorable.

  • Oats Grass crop matures in about 50-60 days for 1st cut and yields 2.5 to 4 MT dry fodder or 8 to 10 MT green fodder, than 2nd cut matures in about 45-50 days and yields 2 to 3 MT dry fodder or 7 to 8 MT green fodder per acre in moderate climate and depending on the varieties.

Napier Grass

  • Napier Grass Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 4.5-8.2 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 18-40 oC is most favorable.

  • Napier Grass typically have a lifespan of 3 to 5 years and Usually ready for first cut is taken at 75-80 days after planting and subsequent cuts are obtained at 30-40 days interval. Hence, every year yield per acre 60 to 72 MT of green fodder or 8 to 12 MT of dry fodder. (Depends on the varieties and climate)
