Cultivation of Barley Crops
Introduction : Barley (Hordeum vulgare) is one of the world’s oldest cultivated cereal grains, mainly grown for food, feed, and brewing. It is a hardy crop that can withstand drought and low soil fertility better than many other cereals.

Barley Can be grown in a variety of soils. However, Clay, sandy and loamy soils with a pH range of 5.0-7.0 are suitable. Also the Soil should be well trained and well aerated. The weather temperature 12-30 oC is most favorable.
Barley crop matures in about 130-150 days and yield 0.8 to 1.5 MT per acre in moderate climate and depending on the varieties.
